The weatherman meant well

using knowledge &

modern calculations to be sure

conditions would be right

for today’s activities - so many

depending on skills.

 

Unfortunately

             somersault

weather-reality introduced

not outside sandwich

time but –

a hint of crystal white shine.

 

Sun as promised by radio

weather news seemed

to evaporate –picnic ruined.

 

Reality-weather is da boss.

I'm always thankful that brain surgeons and airline pilots go about their work with a greater success rate than weather forecasters.

weather shapes us. I admit the weather forecasters get it wrong, but wiht so many factors invoved it's getting better. Forecasting, I mean, not the weather. Global warming has made things much worse.

Richard, yes I've also wondered about this, for example what is really meant by "there is a 30% chance of rain tomorrow". Really it's just a wild guess at best? Would be a bummer if your wedding rained out although they do say it is good luck!
