I see a sun hovering
in the far sky
(Is it the same one
that seeks me each day?)
creating wings from a skyline
of forest it caresses
and warms lake’s surface
covered in snow.
Sprouting shrubs linger near
shoreline’s shape
gives halt to my eager steps
ice perhaps too thin
to explore any mysteries
on the other side.
My firewood a pyramid
of split logs
enough to satisfy any hearth
however stacking them
not part of morning’s plan
since nature’s moment
keeps calling me.

The fifth and the sixth
The fifth and the sixth stanzas stand out from the other excellent companions Richard. Thanks for sharing.
