Today
is a feast of sharks
as we turn one to another in
love and
remember picnics with laughter
tears and family
achievements shared.
Turning the page
I am a feather soaring
in the wind.
From Sulphur Mountain I spring
one thermal following another
claiming
height as my mentor.
Lifting-off tall spruce I
surrender to speed
descending as an arrow. I am
an eagle in flight
a victim within a journey.
