Too Far Too Soon
Fancy house,
Victorian in style means
sharing a street with
other snooty neighbours
until one day tongues slash
and words bite
a carpenter by trade
too busy with captured hours
losing wife to inattention
and love drifted into different streams
storm clouds covering their home
missing in their lives a song
of unity.
Her bed larger when alone
his on the other side of town
remembers holding their children
long ago
before he sleeps
he kneels in tears beside his bed
and later in his dreams
he promises a
new page on the morrow.
And when he thinks of her
a smile tickles his nose.

I like the way you've told a story here- with short phrases that hint at larger events, it's successfully subtle.
