The Victim

isn’t aware shadows are observing –
limbs curling
under a choppy wind
and he is wishing to see his
family soon –

not so an apparition counters
until his remains
are returned

to rest in harmony
under the atmosphere
of family and friends.

And little do they know
someone in the grieving crowd
is next.
