A Walk Through Time

From my front window view
the grass continues grieving, a
mower trim once again
sunset preparing descent
from its daily attire,
as crows arrive for quiet slumber.
Today was bountiful adventure
beneath the frame of best
intentions, pleased to
succeed in a fling of living
parents taking turns push babies
as stroller-wheels
hum sidewalk’s tune.
I look back on my own
menu of memory---
lazy days of summer
growing into tans and muscle
years leaping silently into seasons
marriage and children
and watching through this
window, I remember.
