My head feels like a pounding drum
trying to be louder
than a fireworks show
when the lawn sets on fire
and the sirens are wailing
and the people are screaming
for help,
(except my head hurts more.)

My forehead is hot like a burning coal
that's been dipped in lava
and baked in an oven
at a thousand degrees,
and then went on a day-trip
‘round the sun.
(but my fever is worse.)
