Fastening the seatbelt

There is a sandal being dangled
From a big toe
Backwards then forwards
As you glide on your swing
The harvest is high and lush this year
And now you have 4 pairs of excited hands to gather it in
This is a warm and exciting evolution
Like arms enfolding
Without compulsion or over indulgence
Oiled by practise, fine tuned and cajoled by a humorous and knowing tool
Expectant of being prised open wide
To project precious contents
Like umbrellad’ seed from its’ pod
Onto fertile ground
Replete with generous nature
The walk was fresh and light with twists and turns
A puddle to splash through. Long grass against your legs
Birdsong
Sigh and climb aboard your vehicle
With a hot sun on your arms
Confident. Patient and tempered by wry smiles
And the discipline of your relation flowering
