If I lived back here
How would that be?
Bound by the tides and
Deep family history.
Tethered,
While stray buzzards prey overhead
While gray dolphins flip past empty beaches.
"Here are your boundaries,
Press at them.
The hills, the sea, the rivers, strong walls,
Carved rocks.
See how they hold you firm,
Again,
At last,
See how you stretch to fill them."

A beautiful tension between the wild and the tamed, border lands and all of its connotations, always interesting to be on the border of thisngs. Lovely natural imagery too. The change in voice is intriguing.

Some lovely word pictures in
Some lovely word pictures in this one. Being a keen falconer, I can see the buzzard flying overhead.
