On Spirituality

I write this short piece as it were almost against my own inclination as good friends of mine are expressing interest in spirituality; and I have a good amount of experience with it, socially and formally from the various Christian Churches of my youth, from the Buddhist temples and wats I attended in Thailand where I taught, to the gatherings we would have at the Goddess Temple at the Jackson Well Springs, a resort of warm sulfur waters, but those sulfur waters are quite healing. But I am guided by what Pythogoras wrote: "The air is full of spirits; the best serve Eros;' more by the first part than the second. There are spiritual realms for which I hold reverence, and when spirits of various kinds appear here, summoned or otherwise, I try to show a certain respect or ritualistic reverence if I've summoned them to appear. And these spirits have physical presence; I've encountered thousands of spirits if the wind has ever blown from Poseidon to Ganesh to Lucifer to Yahweh to the Buddha, and many others not at the forefront of my mind, but the remarkable nature of these experiences willl never leave me. I've also found great profit from studying spiritual texts such as the Bhagagavita, the Quran to some degree, The Old and New Testament the scholarship of which has been central to my life and beliefs, and again some others not at the forefront of my mind. This has been good to write just this; And we will talk more of this some other time.
