Into The Void

Hearts stop beating,
livers stop purifying,
lungs stop breathing,
but does the soul stop being?
"Yes," says the manacled modern man with his head full of numbers and
his wallet full of silicon.
But he never understood the soul to start with,
so how could he make such a judgement?
This isn't neutrons and ghosts; this is movement and vision and
blood!
This is the very roots of the tree of life; the I that writes, "I
think, therefore I am."
So will I stop seeing when authorities pluck out my eyes, stop being
when they present my head on a plate?
I think not, but that's just "me."
