The process of letting go.
Of setting it free.
Handing it over.
Letting it be.

Releasing anew
A lease on life;
A lease that is brief,
For that is all we are due.

Life's brief contract, (therein the fine print),

I like this, but I suggest that you could improve it by making it scan better, spinning it out to four verses if necessary (some repetition would be OK), and maybe contracting line 8 to "for that is all we're due". (Just an idea.)
