Percy's Skylark I.P
By shoe
- 1322 reads
"We look before and after,
And pine for what is not:
Our sincerest laughter
With some pain is fraught;
Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought."
P.B. Shelley
An envelope- so final-
A perfect Robin sealed inside
makes an uncertain messenger
after all this time...
And it's not as if I've written
- how I have become so small
that I can barely hold the barest bones
and my heart folded seven times.
Or how much I miss the flying
"higher still and higher"
you took me up with Percy's lark
-heeding not my fear-
"until we hardly see -- we feel that it is there",
And though I never see you
And even after all this time
I can still hear your voice asking me,
what sweet thoughts are mine.
