Barnyard turkey life
Had simply run amok
Not a single turkey
Gave a nip nor a tuck.
Thaddeus was resolute
Again to save his hide
He'd hidden last November
Behind sacks of pesticide.
Margaret MacBride
Who owned the big barnyard
Had other plans for Thad
That she'd not discard.
Wednesday came cold and gray
And Thad passed near some hay
In a flash sprang old man Baker--
One more tom sent to his Maker.
