This is sort of a song-poem. It's not about the First Couple in Washington, in case you wonder. The rhythm is along the lines of Ray Charles' "Fool For Love". Have you heard it?
Don't call her First Lady
For she,too, has a name
Maybe she's his
But he's also hers
Don't call her "his wife"
For who says "her husband"?
Although they both are
Yet each is a star.
I say each is a star
With starry-sky rights
Each has a twinkle
In that great chain of nights
So don't call her First Lady
Or call her First Wife
Instead you may call them
Two darlings for life.
