Years from now...
if you weren’t here,
your heart
would still throb
between these sheets...
the sculpted contours
of your body –
indelibly pressed
on this mattress...
etched
on my mind.
The scent of your skin
will ever permeate
this counterpane
and the liquid gold
of your hair
melt
into the pillow –
spilling over
to ever course
through my veins.
Talking to myself –
feeling pretty dumb...
watching you
sleeping in my arms,
as we lay, safe,
in our haven...basking
in our own, sweet
‘midnight sun’,

neon sign, ‘Buy one –
get one, free’.

Hi Tina,
this is such a beautiful read, I could picture
so easily, the scene of a loved ones contours
indelibly pressed on the mattress. I also loved
the title.
Congrats on the well deserved cherries.
Thankyou for the read.
Jenny.

There's a wonderful mix of fantasy and reality in this one, Tina. Especially love the sensuous first stanza! Well done on the cherries :)
