This very effective poem has
It seems to me that this very effective poem is driven by a tightly controlled anger. I like the use of everyday phrases 'the fly in the ointment', 'walked into a cupboard door'. The repetition of 'the one, the one' builds the poem's momentum and makes many of us aware that the narrator is not the only one with life's experiences of this kind. Elsie

It seems that 'the ones'
It seems that 'the ones' existance did not deserve a name, was just there, until the very last line where dreams can't be stifled.
Quite chilling.

'The one' is hundreds of
'The one' is hundreds of children I've known and worked with. You've got a rein on this, but you still select the most innocent action to receive retribution - clapping too soon and that's abuse enough to sink your reader. Haunting stuff.
