How easy
Eccentricity
Was when
Young,
Those all
Consuming
Eyes of elders
devoured us,
Ecstasy ran
Through our veins...
Not the drug you see,
But a bliss
Of belonging
To a group of peace
Loving friends
If you please.
Not sheltered
From realities,
But fearless
In numbers...
Undaunted and
High on a sense
Of imagination
We were seduced,
No shackles could
Restrain passions,
We dressed for
Every young dude,
Shaped a generation
Of individuality,
Drenched ourselves
In music that never died.

How true Jenny. I remember
How true Jenny. I remember feeling untouchable like anything was possible, it was so easy to dress up and feel wonderful. Nolan is right the music didn't die but the doubts have crept in.

Hi Jenny,
Hi Jenny,
I like this reflection on youth, I think we all have a sound track! And amazingly I would wear things I'd never consider now.

A good poem Jenny. You have
A good poem Jenny. You have described the feelings many of us must have had over the years with our musical and youth cultural identities. As I was making friends and socialising , particularly in the eighties and the nineties, there were so many different style groups, such as heavy rockers, punks, hippies, skinheads, etc. it all got a bit fractured, but we all had shared musical passions with our friends.

keepin the faith
say goodbye to the oldies but goodies
the good old days weren't always good
and tomorrow's not as bad as it seems
it's all R&R to me, keepin the faith
& tell her about it
