A Magic Carpet Ride

The beating of drums barely audible in the far
distance, feeling soulful for pastures new, he
wanders the cold arid desert - time to release
energies, the handsome...enigmatic Bedouin Nomad,
night-time having relatively little warmth,
chilling to his spirit - yet better night-time
drifting, than facing the fiery blaze of the
daytime...desert sun's scorching rays of light,
the shadows of his dreams, lost like mystical
moonlight. Gazing skyward, a thousand stars
twinkle, giving mystery...mystique to this Nomad,
nearing his destination, the beating
becomes clearer, as into sight his
safe haven is spied, his keffiyeh hides thick, black hair and
his beard adds to his mystery, the black bisht
he wears with pride, walking with long strides,
moving ever closer the hypnotic - melodious sensations
of the flute, somniferous with the beating of his heart,
as he nears with enthusiasm,
sudden weariness, as aromatic spices fill the air,
flavours of the Middle East, cinnamon...nutmeg,
then the mystic...heady fragrance of musk and
patchouli - leaving the air heavy and sweet,
his passionate woman dances to the vibrant sounds,
her body movement - snake like, hips swaying, he
surrenders to her spell, she has charisma which he
finds exciting - erotic and so very enticing,
this beautiful woman lures him to her bedouin tent,
where lying down on rugs and cushions, she serves
him mint and anise tea, sweetened with honey,
then softly with her slender hands, she massages
him with oils of cinnamomum and cassia, the hot
spicy fragrance stimulates his mind, an aphrodisiac
to his senses, sending them both into passionate...
sensual pleasure, where dreams carry them on a
magic carpet ride, into the great unknown.
