Reflect

Reflecting with sincere compassion on those
crippled...unable to leave their house, they
gaze out of window watching world pass by.
Take heart, be encouraged to let imagination
go where it wants, sometimes that place is
better when spirit flies free.
People feeling lonely or scared of strangers
in crowded places...lost souls with no hope,
not sure of which way to go, troubled by
misfortune or simply out of touch. Don't be
afraid to ask for help even if you get many
unwelcome stares, keep pushing on till you
find your sheltered nook.
The old man who tottered off bus just
the other day right outside cemetery,
walking stick in hand...deep in thought,
taking flowers to his late wife's grave, the
most fitting way to remember her, even
though it's always been hard to say goodbye.
Woman who still lays a place at the table
for her now deceased husband – his soul shadow
still lingers, she can't accept he's gone. Well! In
my mind that's fine, we all have our own ways of
dealing with grief, if that's what it takes.
Very young and teenagers too have worried fears
of failure which leaves them blue, they need a
helping hand from me and you. I would say, stay
away from what feels wrong, those that have
gift of gab who try to lead you on. Be a leader,
stand up tall, show the world your all.
In moments of silence when want and desire
are inclined, remember each day that you're
breathing, to take in all that's around, smile...
gaze at sky it's all free, think first of all you
have and not what is out of reach in these hard times.

A lot of interesting and
A lot of interesting and compassionate thoughts, Jenny. You mention not being afraid to ask for help — maybe also, not being afraid to offer help, or ask if it's needed. And your encouragement to think and be aware of the needs behind those around us who may be smiling, but may be struggling too, and the peer pressure on the young people. And your last verse is reminiscent of 'Count your blessings, name them one by one …'
Also made me wonder how your hip/leg is now yourself, and re getting out? Rhiannon

Hi Jenny, Nice thoughts in
Hi Jenny, Nice thoughts in this poem of feeling for your fellow man. To be crippled and behind window pane must be hard indeed. I have difficulty walking but can manage a bit outside, but I guess it is a downward, slippery slope!

I hope physio helps too! It
I hope physio helps too! It has taken a long time, when in May does it start? It is like you to think of others' suffering when you are suffering so yourself. You are so giving!

I know what you mean about
I know what you mean about support from here. People here are always so friendly and have so much knowledge to share to help in all sorts of situations. You are one of the most important for that.
I keep wondering if you have torn a muscle or ligament or dislocated something? Why is it still so sore after all this time? I hurt my shoulder once when stretching and there was nothing wrong but the pain was worse than childbirth for me (which involved a 2 week stay in hospital). But no one could find anything wrong,. It got better after a month though, so I don't know. It is so good that you can sit and sleep fine though so there is some relief, just it must be so frustrating for you. I'm glad your partner is retired so you always have someone to keep you company and help

My partner has mobility
My partner has mobility problems, and he loves watching the birds. Sometimes he lies in bed watching the seagulls circling in the sky outside. The little birds are very tame with him, maybe because of Chak (jackdaw with broken wing) but maybe also because he always moves slowly. When he sits outside a robin sits on the back of his chair. Are you finding this happening with your birds ? I have had the kitchen door open today as so warm and that blackbird has been in already!
Thankyou for asking about my shoulder, it was a long time ago it happened, when working the vegetable bit in Sainsbury's, it's neverr got thast bad again, Thank goodness!!! I do feel for you!!! If it's muscles with you they will heal, too. Are you taking supplements and stuff to help?
