Summer's Creation

Softly thinking...
remaining in hush;
needing to understand
complexity of waiting,
bringing suggestions
of impressions to surface;
allows me to imagine
splendour of orange
butterfly siphoning
sweet nectar, those
lilting wings delicately
flitting to each fragrant
bloom; while heads tilt
their petals in welcome,
then into the blue wings
flutter; so lustrous in
midst of sun that casts
winking brightness
through shadows.
And I escape into many
treasured faraway
daydreams, unlocking
soothing euphony of
nature's music that
melts the heart; while
visualizing summer's
creation.
Dear diary: Reminder For me!
Butterflies and Bees are the
best part of Summer. I've
decided this year to grow
flowers that attract
these insects.

A spot of dreaming is just
A spot of dreaming is just the thing isn't it? Especially when it seems to be getting colder instead of warmer. I always make a point of planting as much as I can that attracts butterflies and bees. Do you have your greenhouse up and running again now, after the storm?

I love "softly thinking....
I love "softly thinking..../remaining in hush"
"needing to understand/complexity of waiting" made me think of all the planning about growing. So much fun :0)
Don't know if I have blathered on at you about phacelia yet, but if you haven't tried it yet, please give it a go? They are very easy to grow from seed and bees love them. And white clover (white clover is also very easy, that and phacelia are so easy they are sold as green manure seeds for fields, just to be ploughed back in because they fix minerals for the soil!) I have been rubbish at getting wildflowers to grow from seed, but these did. I bought plants from Naturescape online in the end, am hoping they will seed themselves. I bet your come up though
Please could you give updates as you get started, I would love to see and read how it is all happening?
And thankyou for your lovely poem :0)

I've just seen Di's comment
I've just seen Di's comment about the phacelia - she recommended it to me last year and I ordered some seeds online here:

It is AMAZING! Honestly you can't go wrong with phacelia - it's such a beautiful little flower and very very easy to grow - just chuck it in the earth!

HI Jenny
Such a beautiful poem with lots of word pictures. I am not much of a gardener but might be inspired to try harder this year.
