Ode to a Messy Child

Armed with black bags, I entered your room
complete with polish, duster and broom
I had no clue as to where to start
The state of this room is straight off the chart
Clothing mountains and shoes galore
Books in the wardrobe and cups on the floor
Dirty dishes and heap of old cans
I rolled up my sleeves and put gloves on my hands
The dust under the bed threatened to choke
How long has that dvd player been broke ?!
Sick of the crap I fall to my knees
I begged you to help me, even said please
But you left with your mates and laughed at my plight
I dont think you'll be smiling when you get home tonight
For Im tired of cleaning, I hate all the mess
I dont want the worry, nor all the stress
So EVERYTHING has gone in the bin
Im sure you wont mind delving right in
to retrieve all your clothes, your cds and stuff
I really did have enough !!
So go on in whilst I take a bow
Just look how tidy your bedroom is now !!!

This poem should be printed
This poem should be printed onto one of those decorative boards that hang , as a reminder to children that Mums can have a breaking point. You have captured the atmosphere beautifuly and kept the poem flowing to enhance the feeling.
