A boys mind at fourteen

A boys mind at fourteen
Is something that should be seen
All those butterflies
Aching to be released
Every word queuing up
Is an arrow waiting to fly
One is carrying kisses
That’s the one that misses
And hits the girl you don’t fancy
She smiles because she fancies you
Now you don’t know what to do
A boys mind has much to chew
A boys mind at fourteen
Is pile up on a motorway
Every rumour has your name
Written across your face
Angst is an expression
Thoughts turn to sex
Stop looking at teachers breasts
You know what’ll happen next
Compliments wait for the bait
Like fishes in an angling competition
The more you want the less you get
The ones you had slipped the net
A boys mind at fourteen
Knows no bounds
It’s a firework display
And a cacophony of sound
Questions come thick and fast
Thoughts are cowboy chancers
You put your mind at rest
By cheating with the answers
Life at this age is
One of constant pressure
For things that don’t matter
To anyone but you
