Here on Earth

Here on earth are the real pearly gates
Protecting those inside from everything they hate
Like other human beings
Who are not so keen on material worth
Here on earth
The rich like to bleed the poor
They could feed people with fallen fruit
But they prefer to load their guns and shoot
We are all in the game show now
And the other side of life
Lives a sacrificial cow
And a milking trophy wife
Here on earth
The castles still have moats
Keeping out the peasants
With gunmen on the boats
This is the new kingdom
The one where no one votes

I like this poem. It bites

I like this poem. It bites and makes us think. Do you have the present world or nation in mind or is it a future scenario?
