I wish I was

A long way from home

The day before the clock stopped

And the bombs dropped

I wish I could have

Seen the evil in the eyes

Of the blood thirsty few

Who would kill me and you

I wish I had known

That dictators love death

That killing runs deep

When the world is asleep

I wish I could see

The faces of war ghouls

When they realise

That everyone dies

I wish we’d survived

And the bombs all died

And we heeded the warning

And we all woke up in the morning….
