New Year Old Moon

Tired old moon trying to shine
On drunk people singing
The first five words of Auld Lang Syne
Its the only line we remember
This year takes a bow
There are lovers having a row
Pledges will be promised
Angry words spoken
And most of the resolutions
Will be broken
Happy New Year
Cheeks will be kissed
Lies or truths will be wished
Almost everyone is pissed
It’s an entertaining sight
There will be the occasional fight
And on New Years Day
We won’t remember last night
The conversations with strangers
Has left and closed the gate
Nothing changes except the date.
