Guns and knives
Slaughtered lives
Blood spilled
Hope is killed
How did we stoop so low
Where did humanity go
Needles and drugs
Heart string tugs
For those all alone
With a future unknown
This world of ours
Counting the hours
Until the day is dust
And dreams are rust
The blackness of the sky
Whispering death is nigh
At the end of a gun or knife
What happened to the colours of life
