FLIRTING WITH INTENT.
sneak
Even with my countless flaws,
love entered the frame.
She conceded on a Thursday night.
She insists I am to blame.
I had long suspected hatred.
How wrong can one man be?
All that she had ever shown -
was indifference to me.
Memories yield drunken blurs.
My feet relinquish ground.
We drank in booming nightclubs,
but we never heard a sound.
They say I floated aimlessly.
Wasted on her scent.
I may have mentioned marriage,
as I flirted with intent.
My rehabilitation -
would end in more than hugs.
I know we kissed in every scene.
Her lips like 'Class A' drugs.
Confessions of a Thursday night.
By Friday we were one.
All the doubts that plagued my mind,
by Monday, dead and gone.
No lame excuse or punches pulled.
No exits, no regret.
I faced a hateful working week,
so deeply in her debt.
One weekend that changed it all.
The power of her pull.
Condoms, once half empty,
now appeared to be half full.
