HAPPY XMAS, POP IDOL IS OVER.

Sell me attitude, not plastic hope.
Sell me realistic hate.
Give me something that's worth listening to,
as I gesticulate.
These pretty boys all look the same.
I want ugly, fat and dire.
I want music I can throw-up to.
I want hero's that expire.
Not artificial cretin pop -
rehashed for a younger crowd.
I want icons with emotions,
where 'everything's' allowed.
A song that sings my life to me,
by a band that screams in tune.
A reflection of the emptiness,
that crawls about my room.
I want Morrissey, I want Anarchy,
I want anything but you.
I want suicidal tendencies,
in rigor-mortise blue.
Anger, passion, hopelessness.
A three minute life respite.
Not another tacky cover song -
that was originally shite.
Uniquely under-rated.
A start to a promising end.
Your dread and aggravation -
will become my new best friend.
Sell me anything but plastic smiles,
and songs my parents know.
'Happy Xmas, war is over'
Just another crushing blow.
