Trapped Addict

I recall the pipe
Its memories drawing out
in a spouting fountain of smoke.
Hope sprang from its lips,
Sparkling stars twinkling onwards
Towards a hollow bridge,
Pieced together by an imprisoned man’s wails.
Dear gaoler sir,
I cannot breathe.
Dear gaoler please,
I am drowning.
The sighs uncurl from my chest
in majestic hurt, offer warm hands of solace,
Yet the pain infests the sputtering void,
The dark liquid rises as a crashing flood.
I plunge one hand into the air, before cresting wave,
Golden eyes squinting in disbelief,
Mouth creating age-echoing dismays.
Dear pipe, how the memories surround!
Only your jeweled lips could arouse
Disruptive distinction, canceled collaborative fiction!
Quick, send seducing deserts
Past the dizzying design, swore wicked gaoler.
Never, said mind’s sweats,
Nascent through grotesque exertion,
Pulsate celestial rays
Into there prisons!
Stood there locked those titans of bunched muscle,
Time watching,
Enraptured gazer suspended,
Trapped within teasing Eternity’s
Forever dancing fingers.
