Spirit Dancer
It started like most, in a casual way
"Hi ..you sound nice...How are you today"
Addresses were swapped in an offhanded manner
Yeah she was ok....for an "also ranner"
An insipid few lines formed the first E-mail sent
Some letters came ....and some of them went
And then a Spark was ignited it seems....
Because he popped up in one of her dreams
and then she'd rush home from work just to see...
if an E-mail was listed as coming from he.
and if not her heart would plummet and sink
but if there..she'd sit at the keyboard and think....
of all of her news, to reply...would he smile?
She was happy when writing to him, for a while
He was moved by her words...touched by her thoughts
and amused by her funny or witty retorts
They shared in their lives all the happy and bleak
They cared and they worried if one didn't speak
and as the months passed the closer they grew
and their friendship developed, it was strong it was true.
He told of a party, a Special affair...
He was throwing for collegues and friends over there
She sat at the keyboard, she missed him, she pined
and she wished she was with him as they wined and dined
she closed her eyes she imagined the scene
and she felt herself drifting as though in a dream
They were all sat at table and glances were cast
he smiled round the throng and somebody asked
of the empty place that was set next to he...
"that's for my love..who lives over the sea"
and over the setting he'd placed a Rose of bright Red
and a Candle burned as he lovingly said
"she can not be with us...but her Spirit is here"
and they toasted her in wine and good cheer
And soon they were dancing.. in two's they did glide
He sat, and he wished she were there by his side
He became more alert..he did not feel bereft
a slight draught had formed at his side to the left
An aroma of perfume he knew to be hers
A smell he would love for the rest of his years
A kiss on his cheek that was Gossamer light
Then she took him and led him out into the night
There in the Moonlight she moved into his arms
he felt, his face taken, between both her palms
he heard a soft whisper up high on the breeze
"Hey Baby I'm here.
Dance with me please"
He tasted the pressure, of her kiss on his lips
and he stirred..as she swayed with her body and hips
There on the terrace they danced through the night
and anyone watching would see an odd sight
A man on the terrace, Dancing alone
and a shadow that moved with illusional Tone
When she at the keyboard moved out of her Trance
her mind was swimming with music and dance
Surely she'd nodded..and had short Repose.....
she looked down and there in her hand was a Rose.
