Ben and his magic bat.

Ben has been playing baseball for a couple of years now. But he really wishes he didn’t have to. Because, see Ben couldn’t hit a ball to save his life. Every time he came up to bat, Ben could hear the giggles, and the “oh no it’s Ben’s turn” He never hits the ball.
Ben wants to so bad, but he doesn’t understand why it is so important to everyone if he hits the ball? He wants to be like Ryan. Ryan is the star of the team, he always hits the ball, and everyone always cheers for Ryan.
Ben thinks to himself if I could just hit the ball once. So he knows his turn is coming up and he feels the eyes of the team on him. As he is walking over to pick out a bat, he hears a whisper, “Psst, pick me” Ben’s amazed a talking bat? Again he hears “pick me I will help you hit the ball”. He shakes his head in disbelief but he picks up the bat. While he’s waiting his turn he says to the bat. “Bat’s can’t talk, what’s your name?” The bat say’s “I’m Billy I’m a magic bat.” “I can help you hit”.
So Ben walks up beside home plate feeling confident that he has a magic bat, and now he will hit the ball.
The pitcher is laughing and he says to his team, “come on, move up” it’s Ben he can’t hit.
So now Ben is starting to feel nervous again, he says to Billy the magic bat. “Are you sure you can help me hit the ball” “because I’m scared”. Billy looks Ben in the eye and says “Don’t worry Ben, with me you can’t miss”
The pitcher throws the first pitch, and zing it goes by so fast. “Strike” “Yells the umpire. Billy says “don’t worry just swing at the next pitch”. So the pitcher winds up and throws. Ben swings and “CRACK” the ball goes flying over the centerfield fence! The crowd and his teammates are screaming for Ben as he runs around the bases. Homerun.
Ben is ecstatic. He picks up Billy the bat and says. “Thanks Billy you’re the best. How did you do that?” “I’m going to use you all the time now.”
Billy smiles and says “I didn’t do anything” “I just told you that you could hit the ball”, “and you did.” “I just helped you believe in yourself and that’s how you hit the ball” “I didn’t use any magic” “So now you know you can do this with any bat”
Ben smiles and thanks Billy the magic bat.
