it's here
and when
the leaves fall,
the light strikes it,
baked yellow and orange.
the leaves curl inward over time,
having displayed its dying colors,
it closed
when it turns a chocolaty brown.
the breeze is just enough to quench you,
splash you
when you start to get tired.
each leaf looks like a flame, even
the colors look as though they had been burned
onto the leaf.
They fall, looping in the air,
lone travellers of space.
for so long, they were waiting
only for the season of change,
each wandering,
where they will land.

I like this a lot, it has a lovely feel to it and the opening with the baked yellow and orange is my favourite.
