Let the curtain of the night
By Steve
- 723 reads
Be drawn,
The stars showered down
Upon us
Like rainfalls
Descending the staircase.
The stars are sailors
Drunk and stone-silent, dazed by the glow of the moon,
A face
Decapitated, alone, majestic
Down the airs
Into mellifluous waters
Dance on the tentacles of your tresses.
Would you deck my cards with rigged
Failures
And turn my life
Into a highway of the Ace of Spades?
So many days bleed into the night,
Rivers of polluted color stake its claim
Under the red lantern
Discover the color of love
Under blankets of sand
Like fish
Locked in salt.
Do not say it is fated...
No sacrifice ever united a people.
The sacrifice of kennedy, martin luther king
Only divided...
Do not turn my words to slaves
And fashion me into an image of stone
Medusa my heart
Pluck out my eyes
And shut me in
Like a clairvoyant.
