What does it mean to move up the racial pecking order? First there is the European-American tradition which is based on secular humanism. There is also the Judeo-Christian and Judeo-American tradition which is best exemplified by Einstein and Saul Bellow. These traditions are at war with each other and even Saul Bellow seems to imply that Judeo-American tradition is a failure(Humbolt's Gift, Ravelstein).
SO why do Korean-American want to move up the racial pecking order? Because it provides more status, more respect, more government help in terms of business expansion?
Probably, but is it worth it?
