You are
By Steve

nothing like you are outside,
splendor and skill,
the exquisite excellence of the stars,
burning with questions.
your breath, it is one after the other
a stream of indivisible sounds. clinging
to songs,
your breath kisses
when i am hurt, you are
so complete in your healing...
so bella so overwhelming so truth-telling
i don't know who i am.
and if you brush back your hair,
toss your head,
twirl your thoughts and twirl your mind,
i am lost...
i cannot see anything but the sound of you
homing to sheer homes.
will you thrust me back,
will you hate me when you see me
knowing my imperfections, sigh
like a disappointed academic,
cry like someone who has found what she has always
looked for. will you
admit that i am of some importance?
i suppose so,
you magic such divine potions
stroke the pens of such mighty names
reinstate what persons cannot fathom,
your love is winged with what is born.
will you love me for more than a moment
before the abandon?
will you be
as strong as the spirit
minted with recognition?
then forget me
knowing the freedom it brings about.
do not drug yourself
with reverse-envy
pity is its true name
you are
nothing more or less
than
what you suppose yourself
to possess.
