What's the best kind of poem?
Be it a sonnet?
Written to a lover's eyes, their spirit, their soul.
Or a song?
A brief glimmer of light felt in even the darkest, warring lands.
An acrostic, maybe?
Images dabbled across the page in rigid structure.
Blank verse or prose?
The occasional masterpiece raises it's glorious head.
To rhyme or not to rhyme? That is the question!
Fun loving or inspirational?
Or can fun inspire?
Joyous or melancholy?
Is sadness the reflection of past jubilation?
Short or long? A question indeed!
The contents of the mind should be emptied on the page,
There is no barrier for thoughts.
First person narrative,
Close, intimate, personal,
For fiery passion and thunderous anger.
Intrigue and mystery is the fruit yielded,
By a narrator in the third person.
What subject? Poetry knows no bounds -
From love and hate, to walking on the clouds,
And from war and conflict, to travelling the world,
(Or further afoot).
What's the best kind of poem? - Whatever you want it to be.
