Mrs Dalloway III - In The Garden

Lying in bed with you full in my arms.
Music swells and slides to fill this dark room:
Mrs Dalloway III - In The Garden.
"It's beautiful, right?" "Yeah." And this is all
I can say, because at this moment I
am those swelling strings, and I am thinking
about us listening to this at mine
at the end of the summer before last,
sitting in the garden at the end of
the day, with wind shivering in the tall
horse chestnuts and the windows wide open.
You had to leave for the train and I had
to let you. This music is fierce. And all
I can think of is how I know that it
must soon end. But I am holding you now,
and all I want is to never let go.

I like your poem, you've
I like your poem, you've created an atmosphere of a summer's evening and the heavy imminence of a parting. It's horrible when all you can think of is that something will end and music will always choke you.
