Lost and long forgotten past
No more thought of could have been
The streets she walks with just her dog
Tied to her with a bit of string
So lonely now she seems
Nameless faces as she passes, stare
Face down against the winds of life
That left lines deep as furrows there
Her scarf tied tight around her head
Grey, silver whisps of hair
Back bent -
With huddled gait, she heads for home
She'd slipped between the cracks
Of life and love unseen
Now steps with age
The girl that once had dreams...

Ahh, suz what a weepie.
Ahh, suz what a weepie.
"...She'd slipped between the cracks..."
Bet you pop up again renewed.

This reminds me of a lady I
This reminds me of a lady I saw on Camden main road. She took a piece of sandwich out of a bin, then rummaged in her pockets and came out with a linen serviette to eat it with. I've never forgotten her and often wondered what her story is.
Cracking poem.
