as you lay in the bed 

wonder what you dream about 

as you toss and turn at night

looking tired 

you drop down

and you eat your dinner there 

 

i say how has your day been 

you say ok 

how have I been 

we just do small talk

all evening long 

 

then when its time to sleep 

you read a book 

and say 

it is time to sleep you 

turn off the light 

and give me a little 

kiss good night 

 

I'm seeing little 

tale tale signs 

or is it all in my mind

of the smell of perfume

it not mine 

i don't use that kind 

 

but i just carry on you see 

maybe you open up to me 

one day

just be honest with me 

but for now
