The road is so long

sitting on a bus hearing the engine roar

as it goes along the road forevermore

as I put my  head against the window

i see fields rushing by 

and over up in the sky 

i see the sun going down for the night 

it is neither dust nor dawn

the sun going to sleep 

and the moon coming up 

it's that magic time when I can forget about us

oh the colors are red and gold

or I feeling a little cold 

oh this road is so long

it will be hours before I get home

as i look around 

people looking out just  like me 

or sleeping  or reading 

in their own little world

the land is rushing by 

when i see the sun go down 

i think about you and i
