Untethered Melody

Come and play beneath the boughs of green my wayward, windblown spirit, so bright beneath the stars.
Come and dream the endless dream, where night is day and day is dream and dream, she is a dancer.
Ribbon and blade, innocence unmade, an angry hand stayed, can you count the price paid for dancing beneath the March moon?
'Tis a painful swoon, be it midnight or noon, an hour ahead, an hour behind, every hour lost is time unkind, an unplanted seed in a fertile mind.
Dreams are of stolen moments and tearful refrains and torment and anger and passions untold.
Beating heart, caught breath, bound to writhe beneath the distant moon, dreams desire an untethered melody, an unsung song that haunts the space between you and me.
