In this farewell
There are no lies or hours spent
Wondering why
I have no alibi
Just an open light
Welcoming me
To erase myself from what I have become
Swallowing my last breath
Embracing the end so I can
Forget what I have done
Shedding this skin
With all its scars
Awaking a new self
A new dawn
Without pain besetting me
Putting to rest the worst part of me
Cleaning my hands of a thousand lies
Washing away the blood of my regrets
Welcoming mercy
To face myself
So I can let go of what I have done
Through the memory of tears
I give in and fade away again
