A Wise Man once walked down a little street. He came across a little boy that was sitting on a stone sad and all alone. The boy was crying to himself when the old man asked him, 'Why are you so sad and lonely boy, sitting on this stone and crying all alone?' 'My folks are very strict,' said the lad, 'They are always telling me to be good and then my brother and my sister are also always mean to me. I have no friends when the other children play and I am always left all on my own.' replied the little boy sadly to the strange man. 'What am I to do?' he appealed to the old man walking past. 'Look at that little butterfly floating past,' said the Wise Man and pointed to the most beautiful little butterfly wafting along in the breeze under the trees and the flowers. 'Can you see it?' he asked the boy, and the little lad nodded yes. 'It filled with only a little love in its tiny heart,' replied the old man, 'Yet the world would be a lonier and sadder place had it not been for the great love in its little heart, would it not?' said he to the sad and lonely little boy. 'Always remember that and be like the little butterfly. A little love in your tiny heart will go a long way, and will make the whole wide world a better place to be.' He wiped a little tear from the little boy's eye and the then said, 'Now run along and play the joys of your little heart.' And the little boy smiled a lovely smile to himself, filled with the love and joy of life once more. He ran away across the green fields and imagined himself to be a beautiful little butterfly floating away in the wind with his little arms waving happily in the sky. Butterflies are free to fly. A little love always goes a long way.
