H - FATHER

The word itself
holds no significance,
other than to symbolize
rejection, hurt, deception.
I alone feel this.

Sympathy comes from others
in endless quantities.
But, it does not replace
or give comfort
in the way I desire.

I harbour these thoughts
allowing them control -
that, frustrating.

Dreams of the day these thoughts go away
are never far.
Though no-one has the answers
to the questions I ask.

So, I continue to crave
feel hurt, regret and hate.
Waiting for my time
of shining and fulfilment.
