November Now

November now.
Dark now.
And always will be.
April will withhold her light.
We’ll hope but she will scorn our pleading.
May will laugh at our writhing.
June will rejoice at our torture.
We’ll be gone by July.
Summer’s sun was merely sequestered.
A mirage.
A chimera.
I’m glad I’m not young.
History? Lessons?
No, just repeat.
