If yesterdays were tomorrows
what then the plan ahead?
Could we avoid the sorrows;
unwind the tangled thread?
If love were still to play for
and hope still reigned supreme,
would faith as eagles still soar
in dreams still left to dream?
If stumbling blocks and worry
were foreseen and cast aside
could decisions, calm; unhurried
traverse ones foolish pride
If if’s and buts are lost things
in the context of the past
then maybes share their bed springs -
and are similarly cast.
The present is the boundary;
to go further is to borrow
or search and find but quandary
For yesterday in tomorrow.

A very good, philosophical
A very good, philosophical piece, Chris. The rhyme and rhythm is absolutely spot on. Excellent work!
