Xanadu

Xanadu
I walk in the dark reaches of my dreams,
my perfect world that no one can see.
In my perfection I reign supreme,
young, beautiful, untouched by time.
I walk the beaches, warm and inviting,
I taste the salt of the sea on my lips.
Climbing mountains as high as I can dream,
inhaling the meadow breeze that soothes me.
Freely I walk among the clouds,
seeking the glorious sunset, anticipating the sunrise.
Standing in the downpour of a storm,
dancing in the music of the rain as it falls.
Singing under the midnight sky,
flaunting myself to the stars.
In my perfect world I am free,
I dance among the depths of eternity.
I never change, never lose,
never know chaos, never sin.
My lovers embrace forever true,
my children free to do what they do.
There is no evil, no hate or jealousy,
no prejudice, no death.
Just Love, and kindness,
freedom, and peace.
It's Xanadu in my mind,
my heart, and in my dreams.
But alas when I wake, I am back here,
where my reality is my wake-up call.
