The Cardigan.

When I lived on my own, I saw a lovely cardigan in our local, hospice, charity shop. It was bottle green, knitted, with 2 cute little pockets at the front and it had five leather brown buttons.
I loved it!
Then one day, a button came off. I put it on the shelf...
After a while another button came off. I put it on the shelf next to the other one...
About a month later the third button came off. It joined the other two on the shelf …
I was a bit surprised when the forth button came off... it still was my favourite cardigan.
Finally, the last brown leather button came off... that's OK.
I got all the five buttons off the shelf and put them into the cute little pocket and took it back to the same local, hospice, charity shop for someone else to enjoy! I made sure I told the little old lady the buttons were in the pocket.
I was recycling back then and I didn't know it. When I told a few friends, they always ask the same question, “Why didn't you just sew them back on?” Good question, but that's just not me, I don't sew.
