I said to Diana, “Paul and myself will support you, we will go with you to the solicitor,” But as time when on, I said to Diana, “Forget the solicitor, that will cost you lots of money, get all your evidence together and when you are ready we will go to the police station, as this is theft, fraud and abuse.” All she would say each time was, “OK, will do.” But she would never do anything. It was very frustrating, but our hands were tied.

The foster parents were horrible, Diana was SO young, life seemed so unfair. This went on for what seemed like ages. I didn’t let up, but came close, I’d always encourage her to, “Go for it,” Then after many years, they the greedy, crook foster parents said to Diana, “We will give you your money,” I was cautious, for they wouldn’t have given in easily, so I didn’t hold my breath, I wanted to fight hard for her.

She had gathered all her evidence together and went to a meeting with them, we weren’t allowed there. The money that was handed over in a cheque wasn’t the amount I’d expected, Diana was very happy but the crafty, greedy pair, in my view had won and she had lost, for they deducted thousands, saying, “This was for the car, this amount was for your holidays, the rent, the gifts, the …….”

Justice was not done; she did get thousands back but NOTHING compared to what she’d given them over the years.

She had slipped through the net, just like all the other vulnerable children, who became adults in their ‘care’, they had stolen from them all, and they had got away with it.
